FINAL NOTICES
Vermont State Science & Math Fair
- We previously sent to your school a confirmation of your
application to the 2008 VERMONT STATE MATH AND
SCIENCE FAIR to be held at Norwich University, Northfield,
VT on Saturday, April 5.
- The final abstract must be carefully typed on the form
(it will appear in the booklet exactly as you send it) available on
this web site at FINAL
ABSTRACT FORM.
- Be sure your teacher has approved your final abstract.
- Participants MUST supply their own extension cords. An
electric outlet will be supplied by the fair. All posters must be FREE-STANDING.
They may not be taped to a wall.
- All participants should be completely set up and ready
for the judges by 9:00 AM. The science complex will be available for
project set up after 7:45 AM Saturday, April 5, 2008. All students
will enter through the Museum Entrance of Kreitzberg Library (#2 on the NU
registration map).
- Judging is from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. You may wish to look
at a sample of the judging
form to prepare for the types of questions the judges
might ask. Projects must remain in place until at least 12:30 PM for
public viewing and awarding of monetary prizes. Projects may be taken
down from 12:30 to 1:30 PM (during the lunch break).
- Lunch at the Norwich University Food Court in the Wise Campus Center
will be available for anyone attending the fair. The Food Court is an
all-you-can-eat series of buffet lines featuring individual pizzas,
pasta and sauces, salad and health bars, omelette bar, hot dogs and
hamburgers from the grill, traditional hot entrees and vegetables,
desserts, and beverages. A variety of vegetarian items are always
available. The cost is $7.75 per person. To facilitate registration, your ticket should be purchased through your school prior to the fair. You will receive your ticket in your packet at registration. Tickets also will be available for purchase at registration in the New Science Building atrium or at the food court. Lunch is scheduled for 12:30-1:15 PM.
- The awards ceremony will be held in Dole Auditorium of
Webb Hall at 1:30 PM.
